Gut feelings: study links diet type to stomach issues in eating disorder recovery

NCT ID NCT07112014

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study watches how stomach and bowel symptoms change in people with anorexia or bulimia during a multi-week hospital program for weight restoration. Researchers will compare those who follow flexitarian, vegetarian, or vegan diets to see if one pattern leads to fewer gut problems. About 185 participants will fill out weekly surveys, and the results may help doctors give better diet advice during recovery.
