Pork challenge aims to solve mystery meat allergy

NCT ID NCT06268717

Summary

This study aims to understand why some people with alpha-gal syndrome get stomach pain, diarrhea, and nausea after eating red meat. Researchers will give 30 participants pork with and without the alpha-gal sugar in a blinded test to see which one triggers symptoms. They will collect blood, urine, and small tissue samples to study the body's reaction and learn what causes the gut problems.
