First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tests if giving an extra dose of the antibiotic gentamicin directly into the surgical wound during a planned C-section can lower the chance of infection. About 100 women having elective C-sections will either get the extra antibiotic or standard care alone. Researchers will track infections and other complications for 30 days after surgery.
