This research study collects and analyzes blood and bone marrow samples from children and young adults with leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, or myeloproliferative syndrome. By reading the genetic instructions in these cancer cells, scientists hope to understand why the disease develops and why some patients respond differently to treatments. The samples are stored for future research, and the genetic results are shared with each patient's doctor.
