New nerve block may offer better pain relief after knee surgery
NCT ID NCT06639503
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether numbing a specific nerve in the knee (a nerve block) provides better pain relief after surgery for a broken knee bone than the standard approach of numbing only the incision area. About 38 adults having this surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two pain treatments. The goal is to see if the nerve block reduces pain and the need for additional pain medication.
