First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This early study tests a new device called GEMINUS, which replaces a narrowed heart valve without open-heart surgery. It involves 30 people with severe aortic stenosis. The goal is to see if the procedure is safe and feasible, with follow-up for up to 5 years.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
GEMINUS Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) system
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a new, less invasive option for replacing a narrowed heart valve, improving blood flow and symptoms.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, small study (30 people) testing safety and feasibility only. The device may not work as intended or could cause complications like bleeding or valve misplacement.
