NCT ID NCT07000383
First seen May 30, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether Gelsectan, a supplement that coats the gut, can reduce diarrhea, belly pain, and bloating in people with diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). About 90 adults in Vietnam will be randomly assigned to take Gelsectan alone, Gelsectan plus a standard antispasmodic drug, or the drug alone for two months. Researchers will track symptom changes and side effects to see if Gelsectan offers better relief than standard care.
