First seen Mar 14, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study is creating a simple tool to predict which patients might have food or liquid left in their stomach during a sedated gastroscopy (a scope exam of the stomach). Having stomach contents increases the risk of serious complications like choking. Researchers will study 5,000 adults to identify risk factors and build a prediction model to make the procedure safer.
