Can heavy gaming reshape the spine? a study looks for answers
NCT ID NCT07802925
First seen Sep 03, 2026 · Last updated Sep 09, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study asks whether young men with internet gaming disorder show differences in spinal posture, trunk and neck endurance, and fatigue compared to those without the condition. Researchers will measure posture with a non-invasive device, test muscle endurance with standard exercises, and assess fatigue with a questionnaire. The findings could help clarify whether prolonged gaming is linked to physical health issues beyond the psychological effects.

- What this could lead to
- If a link emerges, it could point toward physical health checks and posture advice for people with gaming disorder.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, observational study, so it cannot prove that gaming causes posture or endurance problems. Results may not apply beyond young adult males.
