Screen time as medicine: cartoons and games soothe Kids' stitch fears
NCT ID NCT06598410
Summary
This study tested whether simple distractions like playing digital games or watching cartoons could help children feel less pain, fear, and anxiety while getting stitches in the emergency room. Researchers worked with 90 children aged 5 to 10, dividing them into groups that either played a game, watched a cartoon, or received standard care. The goal was to find a safe, easy way to make a scary medical procedure more comfortable for kids.
