Massive study reveals Sedation's role in gallstone surgery outcomes
NCT ID NCT07205380
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 05, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at over 121,000 ERCP procedures to see if the level of sedation given during the procedure affects how well gallstones are removed from the bile duct. The goal was to understand if deeper sedation leads to fewer repeat procedures needed for leftover stones. The study did not test a new treatment, but rather gathered information to improve future care.
