Simple rinse could ease pain after common surgery

NCT ID NCT06632184

Summary

This study is testing if adding a common anti-nausea medication (ondansetron) to a standard saltwater rinse used during gallbladder surgery helps reduce pain and nausea afterwards. Forty adults having planned gallbladder removal will receive either the standard rinse or the rinse with the added medication. The goal is to see if this simple, low-cost step improves recovery by lowering the total amount of pain and nausea patients experience in the first 24 hours after surgery.
