Summary

This study looks at whether the drug gabapentin should be routinely used for pain control in women having a mastectomy (breast removal surgery). About 1,896 patients will be randomly assigned to either have gabapentin removed from their pre-surgery medication list or continue as usual. Researchers will measure how much opioid pain medicine patients need after surgery to see if gabapentin makes a difference.
