Can a common drug help control HIV in heavy drinkers?

Summary

This study is testing if the medication gabapentin can help people with HIV who drink heavily. The goal is to see if it helps them achieve an undetectable HIV level and drink less alcohol. About 220 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either gabapentin or a placebo pill for 3 months, along with counseling.
