First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at how the body turns fructose (a type of sugar) into glucose. Researchers want to see if the small intestine can protect the liver from harm caused by fructose, and if this protection is weaker in people with obesity. The study will involve 40 healthy volunteers, some with a normal weight and some with obesity. No treatment is given; the goal is simply to learn more about how the body works.
