Free groceries prescribed as medicine for diabetes
NCT ID NCT06019624
Summary
This study is testing whether providing free boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables, along with nutrition education, can help people with diabetes or prediabetes better manage their condition. The 6-month program serves 400 participants in the Bronx who struggle with food insecurity. Researchers will measure changes in blood sugar levels, food security, and fruit/vegetable intake to see if this food-based approach improves health outcomes.
