More frequent blood pressure checks during surgery could save kidneys

NCT ID NCT05993481

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring blood pressure every 2.5 minutes during surgery, instead of the usual 5 minutes, helps doctors spot dangerously low blood pressure sooner. About 640 adults having non-cardiac surgery will take part. The goal is to see if more frequent checks reduce time spent with low blood pressure and possibly prevent kidney injury afterward.
