Frequent blood pressure checks during surgery could save kidneys

NCT ID NCT05993481

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring blood pressure every 2.5 minutes during surgery, instead of the usual 5 minutes, helps doctors spot dangerously low blood pressure sooner. Low blood pressure during surgery can harm organs like the kidneys. The study will include 640 adults having non-cardiac surgery and will also check if more frequent measurements cause any arm pain or nerve injury.
