Freeze your pain away? new nerve treatment trial for stiffness

NCT ID NCT07303582

Summary

This study is testing if a freezing treatment for nerves can better reduce pain caused by severe muscle stiffness (spasticity) in people with conditions like stroke, multiple sclerosis, or spinal cord injury. 50 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard treatment (Botox injections) or the new freezing treatment, called cryoneurolysis. Researchers will compare pain levels, side effects, and daily function over 24 weeks to see which approach works better.
