Simple frailty test could flag High-Risk cancer surgery patients

NCT ID NCT06866678

Summary

This study aimed to see if a simple pre-surgery frailty test could predict which older patients are most likely to have complications after colorectal cancer surgery. Researchers followed 200 patients aged 65 and older, assessing their frailty before their operation and tracking their recovery for 30 days. The goal was to provide doctors with a better tool for planning care and discussing risks with patients before surgery.
