Scientists track muscle wasting in ICU to fight frailty
NCT ID NCT04717869
Summary
This study aims to understand how and why critically ill patients lose muscle mass, a condition linked to frailty and poor recovery. Researchers will observe 250 adults in intensive care to identify factors that might be changed to help patients get stronger. The goal is to gather information that could lead to better treatments to prevent or reverse frailty in the future.
