Breakfast order may tame blood sugar spikes in pregnancy diabetes

NCT ID NCT06896799

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether eating protein and fat (scrambled eggs) before carbohydrates (toast) can reduce blood sugar spikes in women with gestational diabetes. Thirty-five pregnant women will eat the same breakfast in two different orders on separate days, acting as their own controls. Researchers will measure blood sugar, gut hormones, and appetite to see if food order makes a difference.
