Free veggie boxes fight diabetes in mississippi delta
NCT ID NCT06358859
Summary
This study is testing whether providing free boxes of fruits and vegetables, along with nutrition education, can help improve health for people at risk for diabetes and heart disease in the Mississippi Delta. About 300 participants from local health clinics will be randomly assigned to either receive the produce boxes now or later. Researchers will measure changes in blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure, and diet to see if this 'food is medicine' approach works.
