First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 21, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether MRI-guided focused ultrasound can safely reduce severe facial pain in people with trigeminal neuralgia that hasn't responded to medication. Ten adults aged 21-75 with chronic pain for over 6 months will receive a precise ultrasound treatment to a brain area involved in pain. The main goal is to check for side effects over 6 months, while also measuring pain relief.
