New biopsy method may improve pancreatic cancer diagnosis
NCT ID NCT04165018
First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at a newer biopsy method called fine needle biopsy (FNB) for diagnosing pancreatic masses. Researchers wanted to see if FNB could provide better tissue samples than the standard method, fine needle aspiration (FNA), without needing a cytologist on site. The study involved 52 adults with pancreatic masses who underwent FNB, and the samples were sent to a pathologist for analysis.
