First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This early study tests whether transplanting healthy donor stool into the gut can relieve severe diarrhea caused by immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in cancer patients. Four adults whose diarrhea did not improve with standard treatments received the transplant during a colonoscopy. The goal is to see if the procedure is safe and can restore healthy gut bacteria.
