New study: can special strength training boost mood and brain function in older women?

NCT ID NCT06758206

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether a special type of strength training (flywheel) is better than traditional strength training for improving mood, physical abilities, and thinking skills in older women who are not very active. Over 10 months, 64 women aged 60+ participated in one of the two training programs. The goal was to see if flywheel training could reduce depressive symptoms and improve balance, strength, and memory more effectively than standard exercises.
