First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested a new surgical technique that uses a special dye to make glioblastoma tumor cells glow during surgery, helping surgeons remove more of the tumor. 170 adults with newly diagnosed glioblastoma were randomly assigned to receive either this fluorescence-guided surgery or the standard neuronavigation method. The goal was to see if the glowing dye technique leads to more complete tumor removal and better survival outcomes.
