Waking up after hip surgery: could a simple antidote speed recovery for seniors?

NCT ID NCT05939674

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving flumazenil, a drug that reverses the sedative remimazolam, helps elderly patients (over 65) wake up and breathe on their own faster after hip surgery. Researchers will compare eye-opening and breathing-tube removal times between patients who get flumazenil and those who don't. The goal is to see if routine use of this reversal drug is helpful or necessary.
