Heart ultrasound may guide fluid treatment in emergency shock

NCT ID NCT05888974

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new way to see if patients in shock need intravenous fluids. Doctors will use a heart ultrasound measurement (E') before and after giving fluids to see if it can predict who will respond. The goal is to make fluid decisions faster and more accurate in the emergency room. About 187 adults with shock will take part.
