Heart failure study challenges traditional fluid restrictions

NCT ID NCT07400991

Summary

This study compares two approaches to fluid management for people hospitalized with worsening heart failure. Researchers want to know if allowing patients to drink based on thirst is as safe and effective as strictly limiting fluids. The trial will follow 420 patients during their hospital stay and for one month after discharge, measuring recovery time, thirst discomfort, quality of life, and safety outcomes.
