Scientists probe why flu shots may fail in the oldest adults

NCT ID NCT02200276

Summary

This study aims to understand how well the immune systems of adults over age 75 respond to the annual flu shot. Researchers want to see if a common, lifelong virus called CMV affects how well the vaccine works in this age group. The study involves giving participants a free flu shot and then tracking their health and immune response through blood tests and weekly check-ins during flu season.
