New study tests gentler kidney stone surgery against standard procedure
NCT ID NCT07159035
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study compares two ways to remove 1-2 cm kidney stones from the lower part of the kidney. One method uses a thin tube with a camera through the urinary tract, and the other makes a small cut in the back. The goal is to see if the less invasive approach works just as well and helps people recover faster. About 640 adults from 20 hospitals in four countries will take part.
