New kidney stone surgery could be just as effective, less invasive

NCT ID NCT07159035

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jul 08, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study compares two procedures for removing 1-2 cm kidney stones from the lower part of the kidney. One method uses a thin tube with a camera through the urinary tract, while the other makes a small incision in the back. The goal is to see if the less invasive approach works just as well and helps patients recover faster. About 640 adults from multiple countries will take part.
