Can a common diabetes pill help older veterans fight frailty?

NCT ID NCT04221750

Summary

This study tested if a combination of a supervised weight loss and exercise program plus the medication metformin could better improve physical function and reduce frailty in older veterans with obesity. It compared this combined approach to using just the lifestyle program or just the medication alone. The goal was to help participants become stronger and more independent.
