Womb surgery for rare birth defect: will it save more babies?
NCT ID NCT07564297
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study follows 80 babies with a severe birth defect called congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) who had a special surgery (FETO) while still in the womb. Researchers want to see if these babies survive more often and have fewer long-term health problems compared to babies with similar severity who did not have the surgery. The goal is to understand if the procedure improves survival and reduces complications like lung and heart issues.
