Egg freezing studied for women with repeat ovarian cysts
NCT ID NCT03823833
First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looked at whether freezing eggs (oocyte cryopreservation) is a good option for women with benign ovarian cysts that keep coming back, like endometriomas or dermoid cysts. These women often need multiple surgeries, which can harm their ovaries and reduce fertility. The researchers measured how many mature eggs could be collected after hormone stimulation in 82 women. The goal was to see if this approach could help preserve their ability to have children in the future.
