Pickles and yogurt: a new hope for colitis?
NCT ID NCT04401605
First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looks at whether eating more fermented foods (like yogurt, kimchi, and sauerkraut) can reduce gut inflammation and improve daily life for people with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. About 21 adults with confirmed UC will add these foods to their diet for a period, and researchers will track changes in inflammation markers and symptoms. The goal is to find a simple dietary way to help manage the disease.
