Gut feeling: could yogurt and kimchi heal the mind after ICU?
NCT ID NCT06020703
Summary
This study is testing whether eating more fermented foods like yogurt, kimchi, and sauerkraut can help people recover mentally and emotionally after a life-threatening illness like severe COVID-19. Researchers want to see if this diet improves gut health, reduces inflammation, and leads to better mood, clearer thinking, and a higher quality of life. The study will involve 40 survivors of critical illness who are experiencing ongoing mental health or cognitive challenges.
