Which anesthesia is safer for hip fracture patients?

NCT ID NCT06224439

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study looked at 300 people having hip fracture surgery to compare two types of anesthesia: a lumbar plexus block (a numbing injection near the hip) and unilateral spinal anesthesia (numbing only one side of the spine). The goal was to see which method keeps blood pressure more stable and helps patients recover faster. Results may help doctors choose the safest option, especially for older patients.
