First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested whether a new infant formula containing lactoferrin and HMO (a prebiotic) can strengthen babies' immune systems. 240 healthy newborns were fed either the special formula, a standard formula, or breast milk for 12 months. Researchers tracked how often each baby caught a cold or flu to see if the special formula made a difference.
