First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tracks how long the flu virus stays in the upper airways of 18 hospitalized adults who are taking oseltamivir (Tamiflu). The goal is to see if antiviral treatment can safely shorten the time patients need to stay in isolation, freeing up hospital rooms during flu season. Researchers will also check if the flu type (A or B), vaccination status, or other health conditions affect how long the virus lingers.
