Summary

This study tests whether transplanting healthy bacteria from donor stool can prevent severe confusion (hepatic encephalopathy) in 40 patients who had a liver shunt procedure (TIPS) and didn't respond to standard drugs. Half get the transplant, half get a placebo. Researchers will track side effects, brain fog episodes, and quality of life for up to a year.
