First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This pilot study explores whether transferring gut bacteria from a healthy donor (via fecal transplant) can change the gut microbiome in 30 adults with type 2 diabetes and stable coronary artery disease. The main goal is to see if the microbiome changes after 6 months, not to prove a cure. Researchers will also check effects on blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation.
