Tiny study tests lung pressure monitoring during One-Lung surgery

NCT ID NCT04725318

First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looked at whether it is possible to measure pressure inside the esophagus during surgery where only one lung is used for breathing. Six adults having non-cardiac surgery took part. Researchers compared these measurements with lung collapse seen on a special imaging device. The goal was to see if this method is reliable for guiding ventilator settings.
