NCT ID NCT07480447

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether injecting a patient's own fat into chronic wounds can reduce pain better than standard wound care alone. Sixty-two adults with wounds lasting over 3 months will be randomly assigned to receive either fat grafting plus standard care or standard care only. Pain levels will be tracked for 21 days using a simple 0-10 scale.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, natural way to ease pain and improve healing for people with stubborn chronic wounds.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 62 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The procedure is invasive and carries risks like infection or fat reabsorption.
