Fat transfer may offer simpler breast reconstruction for radiation patients
NCT ID NCT07641985
First seen Jun 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two breast reconstruction methods in 280 women who had a mastectomy and radiation for breast cancer. One method uses the patient's own fat (autologous fat transfer), the other uses tissue from the belly (DIEP flap). The goal is to see if fat grafting is as satisfying and safe, with fewer complications and lower costs.
