Race against time: which test finds cancer faster?
NCT ID NCT06892691
Summary
This study compares two standard procedures used to diagnose cancer when fluid builds up around the lungs. Researchers want to know if starting with a more invasive biopsy (pleuroscopy) leads to a faster diagnosis and quicker start of cancer treatment compared to starting with a simpler fluid removal (thoracentesis). The trial involves 98 adults with suspected cancer-related fluid who need diagnostic testing.
