Race against time: new bedside test aims to diagnose bleeding problems faster in the operating room

NCT ID NCT06637943

Summary

This study aims to see if a faster, bedside blood test can diagnose clotting problems during surgery more quickly than standard lab tests. It will involve 210 patients undergoing major surgeries where significant bleeding is expected, such as heart or joint replacement operations. The goal is to see if the faster results from the bedside test can help doctors manage bleeding and give blood products sooner.
