Massive study tracks 90,000 farmers to uncover hidden cancer links

NCT ID NCT00352924

Summary

This is a long-term observational study designed to understand if exposures common in farming—like pesticides, fuels, and dust—increase the risk of developing cancer and other diseases. It follows nearly 90,000 licensed pesticide applicators and their families in Iowa and North Carolina by collecting health and exposure information over many years. The goal is not to test a treatment, but to gather knowledge that could help prevent future cancers by identifying risky exposures.
