Can moms use family health secrets to fight disease?

NCT ID NCT01498276

Summary

This study tested whether teaching mothers about their family's health history could motivate their families to adopt healthier behaviors. Researchers gave 310 mothers a toolkit showing their risk for diseases like diabetes, cancer, and heart disease based on family history. They then surveyed and interviewed participants to see if this knowledge led to better food choices and more physical activity within their families.
