New therapy aims to ease fear of death for advanced cancer patients

Summary

This study tests a short counseling program called Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT) to see if it helps reduce anxiety about death in people with advanced cancer. About 70 adults whose cancer has not responded to at least one treatment will participate. The program helps patients talk about important life areas with a counselor and learn coping skills.
